Tamara Behler
on the new album

My debut album is a journey.

A very personal one. For the first time, I’m bringing together two worlds that were separate for years: my classical cello education and my need to express myself through voice. I play and sing — at the same time. It’s a big challenge. And an even bigger joy.

The album features compositions by extraordinary artists: Michał Salamon, Piotr Matusik, Grzech Piotrowski, Arcadius Mauritz, and Shachar Elnatan. It’s their music that opened up new spaces for me.

Sound-wise? It’s a fusion of jazz, world music, classical influences, and a touch of Slavic folklore. Something was created that’s hard to label. And that’s exactly how I like it.

I graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw with a degree in classical cello. But only now do I feel like I’m truly speaking in my own voice — both literally and metaphorically.
